DAY 1. THE LONGEST DAY.
WEDNESDAY – THURSDAY, APRIL 11-12, 2018.
Actually, it’s been two days, but given the overnight flight it really feels like it’s been one 30 hour day.
Our story begins on Wednesday morning, the first official day of vacation. We stayed up until midnight on Tuesday night packing (didn’t finish of course) and watching Eurotrip to get ourselves ready for the upcoming adventure. I went to sleep at midnight and Tzvi went to work (in the basement), where he stayed for about 3 hours trying to close everything out before vacation. So on Wednesday morning we were both exhausted. We spent the morning running errands – we had our nails done, we got fitted for a suit, and we had our eyebrows done (only one of those things was actually done by both of us).
Around 2 o’clock my father came with the van and picked up us and all of our stuff. We first drove over to the JCC to pick up Hallie from school, because while we did consider that the trip would be easier without her, we thought it was probably the right thing to bring her along. Hallie has actually been quite excited for the trip, telling us for days now that she was going to the airport, to go on an airplane, to go to Amsterdam (not joking).
